Information for instructors on using iTunes U and Camtasia Relay.
Camtasia Relay is a software based screen capture tool that can be used to record voice and anything on a computer screen. It can be used to record class lectures, software demonstrations, and more. As a software solution, Camtasia Relay can be used anytime/anywhere in any office or classroom without any special hardware other than a Mac or PC computer and a microphone. Camtasia Relay recordings can be easily published for online delivery through Media Mill, Media Magnet, and iTunes U.
Instructors should use Camtasia Relay when they want to record class lectures and deliver them as a podcast through iTunes U. Links to iTunes U course podcasts for credit courses are included in the My Course/My Courses & Teaching tab in myU.
Please go to the Class Capture site for more information on Camtasia Relay, or go to the Camtasia Relay Orientation for a short overview of Camtasia Relay. For help with Camtasia Relay, write to oitvssys@umn.edu.
Many campuses, colleges, and departments have access to create podcasts in iTunes U for their areas. To request a podcast that is for a campus, college, or department, please contact the iTunes U administrator in your area. If you don't know who the contact person is in your area, consult with iTunes U Support by completing the Support Request Form.
